PSNI Harassment: Case thrown out

Five people appeared in court accused of paramilitary involvement.

The following statement is from the Ulster PRO of Sinn Féin Poblachtach, all five members refused to stand and recognize the court.

Ráiteas / Statement: 17/11/2017

“Today five members of Republican Sinn Féin had charges withdrawn against them relating to ‘illegal parades and wearing paramilitary style clothing’.

From the outset of this case we have known they where politically motivated arrests designed to appease unionist politicians who where crying for people to be arrested.

These five people where dragged from beds at 6am in the morning, one was arrested while out shopping with his young son who was left screaming.  But more worryingly one of the men had to be admitted to hospital for treatment following his arrest.

Today’s news comes as no surprise as all members have denied all charges against them and today’s developments are a positive step forward for all involved in the case.”
