Statement by the President of Republican Sinn Féin Des Dalton on July 27, 2016

The posturing of the Stormont and Leinster House parties around the question of a United Ireland does not disguise the fact that none of them have a strategy to achieve a United Ireland or a vision of what such a United Ireland would be.

Their posturing has already been dismissed by the new British Prime Minister Theresa May as she recognised it for the empty rhetoric it is. Her dismissal raised barely a whimper from Kenny, Martin or Adams.

Éire Nua is a real alternative to the present undemocratic and partitioned Ireland. It empowers all sections of the Irish people. It makes the Irish people masters of their own destiny free from the yoke of Westminster or Brussels. A free 32-County Ireland with maximum devolution of political power is the answer to the big questions of political and economic power that face us today.
