In a statement issued on March 16, 2016 Sinn Féin Poblachtach national PRO Seán Ó Dubhláin had the following to say in response to the one-sided display on the Stephen Nolan Show, BBC1 in which RSF President Des Dalton was in essence politically ambushed by pro-British elements including Provisional Sinn Féin member Raymond McCartney.

“An Uachtaráin Shinn Féin Poblachtach, Des Dalton, well done for accepting what was knowingly going to be a one sided affair on the Nolan Show, you held yourself well and did those adhering to the traditional Republican message justice.

It is sad that still sections of Irish people suffer due to England’s role in dividing Ireland and the Irish people.

In Ireland today, to hold such beliefs as a free Ireland in control of its own destiny may not be popular, but it is right, it is right in the face of a great wrong, a great wrong which has been and remains the armed British occupation and manipulation of the historic Irish nation.

Now more than ever we need such voices heard, the occupation and imperialist stranglehold on Ireland takes many forms, from the theft of our country’s natural and national resources to the complete disenchantment of whole generations due to societal breakdowns all stemming from the fact the wealth of the nation is not owned by the people of the nation.

Republican Sinn Féin offers the only real alternative in ÉIRE NUA to rescue Ireland from the embarrassing position of total political and cultural surrender it finds itself in, cultural too because as we witnessed tonight on the Nolan Show and as was reinforced with the input of Shaun Woodword it is English thinking and English politics that dominates Irish thinking and Irish politics in 2016.

The Provisionals are a lost cause, only true Republicanism can challenge British rule.

The men of 1916 were spat upon on the streets of Dublin, Republicans today are demonized in the pro-British press on both sides of England’s Border of Partition, the fight went on, the fight goes on.

Republican Sinn Féin supports the republican PoWs one hundred percent and we call for the immediate implementation of the August ’10 Agreement.”
