Iraq: People Suffer as England Gains on the Back of Unjust War

Preas Ráitheas / Press Release

“Having destroyed almost all infrastructure in Iraq, the British government has now agreed to to give a £10 billion loan to finance infrastructure projects. While this may seem like an honorable deed, one of the main conditions attached to the loan is that it can only be spent on contracts that benefit British companies. A memorandum of understanding was signed to provide the £10 billion for specific projects, including;- water, sewage, electricity, health and transport.

Iraqi Acting Finance Minister Abdul Razzak al-Essa told a news conference at the signing ceremony that the loan is exclusively allocated to British companies and the interest rate will be decided on the signing of specific contracts. It is plain to see that this is the new way of Neo-colonialism, to bomb countries into the stone-age under the pretext of “bringing democracy” and then insist that any contracts to rebuild be given to the countries that inflicted the damage. This is also a way for Britain to secure Oil and finances into the future considering it is in the process of leaving it’s erstwhile partners in Europe.”
