Munster Set to Remember 1916, April 30, 2016

EASTER - MUNSTER

Preas Raitheas / Press Release

“As part of the SINN FÉIN Poblachtach 1916 Centenary Programme our organisation will be hosting four commemorative events in each province of Ireland over the coming months.

This Saturday, April 30 the Movement will assemble in Cloughjordan, County Tipperary at 2:30pm sharp for a march to the Tomás MacDonagh Memorial for what promises to be a great day out for all the family.

One hundred years on from the centenary of the Rising let us remember and re-dedicate ourselves to the spirit of ’16, to that generation which ranked among the greatest of all generations in the Irish nations long and ancient history.

“We do not profess to represent the mass of the people of Ireland. We stand for the intellect and the soul of Ireland. To Ireland’s soul and intellect the inert mass, drugged and degenerate by ages of servitude, must, in the distant day of resurrection, render homage and free service-receiving in return the vivifying impress of a free people.” – Tomás Mac Donnchadha 1876-1916.”
