Preas Raitheas / Press Release
Republican Sinn Féin would like to thank all those who took part in the occupation of Moore Street, Dublin to preserve our historic buildings from demolition by greedy developers and a self-serving government.
Support came from all over Ireland, and indeed from abroad, for the Save Moore Street campaign.
Republicans were there from the very start of the occupation until midday on January 12, 2016.
It was with regret, but in good faith and reserving the right to reoccupy the buildings should the need arise, that activists inside the building, after much discussion, suspended their occupation.
The structural engineer acknowledged that the building was left in even better condition than it was in when the occupation began.
The weekly information stall will be in Moore Street as per usual on Saturday and on Sunday a rally and concert will be held there in the afternoon.
Activists! Be ready at a moments’ notice in case you are needed again!
We would also like to thank the traders, local businesses and the individuals who supplied food, drinks, blankets, etc during the occupation.
