Free State Government Has Blood On Their Hands:

On Sepember 2nd 2014 E. de Bothún PRO of Comhairle Laighean (Leinster Executive), Republican Sinn Féin, released the following statement:

A disgraceful showing of hypocrisy from the 26 county administration has presented itself in the last week. The startling fact has come to light that the Free State government has granted licences for €6.4 million worth of military goods in the last 3 years. Including over €126,000 this year, prior to the latest murderous campaign inflicted on the people of Palestine.

Tellingly, specific data on exactly what is being sold to Israel has remained secret. It would appear the Dublin government do not want their dirty linen getting aired publicly. Hypocritically Eamon Gilmore has stated publicly that “the blockade on Gaza is illegal” whilst, at the same time, these said military goods were being sent to those who he said were acting illegally.

In truth the Free State position would be better summed up by former Blueshirt Defence spokesperson Billy Timmins. Speaking at the end of July last regarding the illegal occupation of Palestine Timmins stated: “One is a democratic state and the other is a terrorist group.” In conclusion the public condemnation of Israel by the Free State government cannot be accepted. They are, by proxy, implicated and implicit in an illegal occupation and the murder of Palestinians since 2011.
