Republican Sinn Féin launches 1916-Centenary Website

banner-graphic2016 will see the centenary of the anti-imperialist rising of Irish republicans, revolutionaries, socialists and militant trade union activists against 800 years of Anglo-Norman, English and British occupation in Ireland. The reading of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic marks the initial point of the current phase of the national and social liberation struggle of the Republican Movement in Ireland. Yet 1916 remains unfinished business!

The Republican Sinn Féin 1916 National Centenary Committee has been set up to make preparations to commemorate the events of 1916 in a decent and dignified way. Though the best way to commemorate the struggle of 1916 and the Proclamation of the Irish Republic is to join the struggle of Republican Sinn Féin and build the All-Ireland Republic proclaimed on Easter Week 1916!

All events organised by the Republican Sinn Féin 1916 National Centenary Committee leading up to the centenary in 2016 will be announced on the new campaign-website http://1916centenary.rsf.ie/. Users will also find a wide range of historical information on the events of Easter Week 1916 and the revolutionary and pre-revolutionary period from 1913 to 1923. In the coming years Republican Sinn Féin will constantly updating the website. We ask everyone to visit the website regularly and share the information.
