Sinn Féin Poblachtach will be holding a number of online events over Easter weekend beginning on Good Friday. While we will be holding no large commemorations this year, members and supporters acting in small groups or individually will be laying wreaths at monuments throughout Ireland as well as England and Scotland. The safety of our members and supporters is first and foremost and hopefully next year we will be back to normality.

Good Friday at 4pm the poem Easter Week by Joyce Kilmer will be read out by Ard Chomhairle member Colette Healy.

Holy Saturday at 2.30pm Ard Chomhairle member Seán Mac Carthaigh will read the Easter Proclamation

Easter Sunday at 2pm the Easter Statement will be read out by Sinn Féin Poblachtach Uachtarán Seosamh Ó Maoileoin

Easter Sunday at 3.30pm Ruth Nic An Rí will sing Women of Ireland

Easter Monday at 2pm a wreath will be laid at the GPO by Sinn Féin Poblachtach Cisteoir Diarmuid MacDubhghlais and an short oration will follow

Also on Easter Monday at 3pm the Roll of Honour of the executed leaders of 1916 will be read out by Seán Hawthorne

As well as this over the week we shall be sharing a wide variety of posts on our social media which will include poetry, historical documents and photography. We will also be sharing photos of wreath layings by our members from across Ireland. A full report will be available also on our online edition of SAOIRSE which will be released the following week.
