“Republican Sinn Féin would like to congratulate all ten of the activists from the Crumlin 13 who had their cases dismissed at the Criminal Courts of Justice on February 17, 2016.  This was a sham trial from the start which was designed to break the successful resistance to the water metering installations across Dublin 8/12 and other areas.

While today’s outcome is welcomed, three further individuals remain before the Free State Court in this show-trial, one of which is a Republican Sinn Féin activist, we wish them the best in their upcoming trial on the 3rd of May.

Republican Sinn Féin will continue to support the right to protest and will be actively involved in further protests against metering and water taxation which will ultimately lead to the privatization of yet another one of our natural resources. Irish water and it’s subsidiaries have been a failure from start to finish.”
