SAOIRSE – The Voice of the Republican Movement launches a new website. The new website is still work-in-progress. Upon completion, the newly designed website will include a full archive of Republican News (1986) and SAOIRSE (1987-). It is already accessible under www.saoirse.info.
SAOIRSE – Irish Freedom is the monthly newspaper of the Republican Movement. It is the only regular periodical still upholding, defending and promoting the democratic and revolutionary Republican principles of the United Irishmen of 1798, the Irish Proclamation of 1916, the First Dáil and the 1969/70 Provisional Army Council.
SAOIRSE – Irish Freedom grew out of the split in the Republican Movement in 1986 when a reformist majority at the Sinn Féin Ard-Fheis voted to recognise and, if elected, participate in, the institutions of the 26-County State.
In June 1996 we published our first issue on the Internet. In 2014 in keeping up with the spirit of constantly developing and improving existing resources a new website was launched with the aim of bringing the Republican message to a further audience still.
The domain name of the website remains the same: www.saoirse.info. For any queries, contact: the editors of SAOIRSE: Teach Dáithí Ó Conaill, 223 Parnell Street, Dublin 1; 872 9747; and saoirse@iol.ie.
Críoch/Ends.
