Trading the lily for a World Economic Forum (WEF) badge should be seen as a statement of intent.
The public wearing of this badge by Provisional Sinn Féin at their Ard-Fheis this weekend demonstrates that the Provisional Sinn Féin are prepared to support political power resting with individuals and being a State-held slave to private sector organisations.
Why now and not back in 2004 when a proposal from Belfast Ógra Sinn Féin rejected the wishes of the party’s national executive and backed a motion to boycott the powerful World Economic Forum, attended by the party’s chief negotiator, Martin McGuinness. They also stated the forum “is not a platform to promote our revolutionary struggle”.
What we have seen this weekend is a further betrayal of the Irish people by the Provisionals and shows that they will not deliver on their previous promises of a 32-county sovereign Irish republic but instead a globalist plantation of Ireland.
Cumann Tomás Ó hAirt, Sinn Féin Poblachtach, Ard Mhacha Thuaidh, believes that the only viable outcome for the Irish people is the implementation of a federal socialist republic based on the ideals of 1916 and guided by policies such as Éire Nua and Saol Nua.
